The History of Tampa Barbell

Tampa Barbell is a private facility dedicated to getting very strong. 

We strive to have all the best in strength-training equipment. In addition, we are focused on building a strong community of members who excel both personally as well as compete on our team.

There are no pre-existing competition requirements to join Tampa Barbell, only a desire to get stronger and a willingness to put in the time to do so. A basic foundation of weight training is expected.

Training times: we train together as a team. There is plenty of equipment and space to support multiple groups of people training simultaneously. Training times are currently Tuesdays, Thursdays @ 6:30pm, Saturday @ 9am, and there is a make-up day Sunday @ 10am. Maintaining a regular training schedule is very important.

Since 1996, Tampa Barbell has produced several dozen elite-level lifters. We practice a variety of training methodologies, most closely modeled after principles of Westside Barbell. Every lifter will come to understand what works for him and customize their program accordingly.

Please read through the rules section and email or call to schedule a guest visit. Don’t be shy. If you want to get strong or train around people who can motivate you, this is the place to have the tools, support, and coaching to do it!
